Question 1: What do you envision as the role of the Former Students' Association?

A group of people that try to relate to newcomers of past experiences of college life at Del Mar.

Their role would be to provide a place for former students to keep in touch.

I don't see myself as having a role in the Former Students' Association.

To show and represent the status and dignity of the institution.

I want technology to improve by the updating of computer resources. New computers with more RAM and memory. There should also be a class taught at Del Mar to teach everyone how to use a computer as a class you have to take to get a degree. Also one on creating website and use of Internet.

Electronic computer screens in class. I don't know what they are called but at UTSA they have them. The teachers used laptops to control them, and we took notes and tests from them.

Better assistance for TASP students.

All lectures should be picked up off the computer and class time should be for other important things.

Very much--but we don't get the instruction about computer use we need. I don't have a computer. Everyone just assumes that everyone has computers and knows how to work them efficiently. This is an unfair generalization that causes people like me who are willing to use them--and want to--miss out. We need more instruction on how to use the Internet and the computers here.

Need much more creative learning--some classes this does not apply but as a general rule in over 50% of my classes free thought is discouraged--I am supposed to think or at least act like I think like my professors.

There is not much emphasis on student use of technology.

I think it is very important, unfortunately I know very little about it.

I have all the technology I need at home. But for others who don't have a computer, Del Mar is a great place to come and use one.

For those of us who don't have computers (w/Internet capabilities) and can't always be at the STC when it's opened due to our schedules (work and such), I think there should be a 24-hour library staff.

The construction around the campus is very irritating and time-keeping. Bad time to start construction. It should have been started at the end of last spring semester and finished at the end of summer.

Sometimes the desks in the rooms are dirty with chips or other food for days.

I feel that it would greatly benefit the students to provide more adequate parking as to avoid crowding streets, confusion, unneeded class tardiness and traffic citations.

One long-term safety hazard is the limited parking available to Del Mar students. Students have to get here an hour or so maybe even earlier to ensure they get a parking space and get to class on time. This provides for a lot of stress on the student and angry drivers seeking a spot. The college desperately needs more parking.

Parking facilities are one of the few problems. A reconstruction of our parking lots has given students a hard time finding any parking spaces. Not only is parking difficult, but the debris from construction causes safety hazards.

Sewage pumping should be done prior to classes beginning or after the majority of students are gone in the afternoon. It's very unhealthy to breathe in.
