| McKlendon dba MC Welding & Fabrication |
| Keith McClendon and Albert Carrales had 21 years of combined experience in the welding and fabrication industry. In April 2002 after working for Universal Compression/ Weatherford in Corpus Christi, they decided to combine their experience and talents, partner and start their own welding and fabrication service. They came to SBDC to request business plan and loan assistance to help purchase the equipment they would need and for start-up working capital. Elizabeth Soliz worked with the clients to complete the business plan and SBA loan package. The package was submitted to 5 banks. Three banks denied the loan for lack of equity and assets, and two were willing to work with them. First Capital Bank gave them the better deal, approved the loan, and in late June 2002, M.C. Fabrication & Welding was open for business at 1914 Suntide Road in Corpus Christi. The clients mentioned that all five (5) banks were very pleased with his business plan and financial projections, and mentioned it as one of the best they received. The clients were satisfied and expressed gratitude for SBDC assistance. " We went to the SBDC for help on putting together a business plan for an SBA loan. Elizabeth Soliz supplied us with the information and direction to obtain our goal." "We were awarded our loan and have been in business about 9 months and growing." "The service I received from SBDC was excellent." "I was very impressed with the help I received from Elizabeth Soliz and the confidence she expressed." M.C. Welding & Fabrication is performing outstandingly, and the Company has already acquired significant sized prime and sub contracts for almost half a million in the first year of business. |
