| William Seese dba Corpus Christi Power Wash |
| Mr. William Seese came to SBDC referred by Texas Rehabilitation Commission. He was retired and unable to work for long periods of time, due to back problems. He sought assistance from TRC for rehabilitation and employment opportunities. He was unable to find employment that worked around his time capability, and gave up looking for a job. He became interested in starting his own business, and decided that power washing for residential and commercial market was what he wanted to do. TRC required a business plan and financial worksheets to support his request for financial assistance. Elizabeth Soliz worked with Mr. Seese to develop a business plan and financial projections and Mr. Seese submitted the documents to TRC. After months of meeting and waiting anxiously for a reply, he was informed that he could not be helped, based on expiration of case file. Mr. Seese was disappointed but with encouragement from Elizabeth, did not give up. A month of pleading and communicating his case to TRC Directors and higher ups resulted in continuation of case and a grant request for equipment and supplies to start his business. When asked about the services received of SBDC and his story, Mr. Seese replies: " I am surprised at the good service of SBDC. I think they went beyond my expectations." "Texas Rehab sent me here for some tax classes. I found out there is a lot more help I can receive and the staff is more than willing to help." The grant was approved and he was able to acquire all he needed to get started. Mr. Seese has attended several SBDC seminars and training events and is grateful to the SBDC for their service and assistance to help make his business happen. He is currently working on marketing for local contracts. |
