Ms. Carol Montgomery came to the Small Business Development Center to request assistance with a business plan and loan proposal to start a canvas product manufacturing and retail business in Rockport, Texas. Having worked for a canvas manufacturing & repair company for over 11 years, she was interested in starting her own business in Rockport. She visited with her banker and was referred to the SBDC. |

Elizabeth Soliz provided business plan and financial analysis assistance for a loan proposal. The loan was submitted to SBA Harlingen and approved under the SBA pre-qualification program. Ms. Montgomery presented her business plan and pre-qualification letter to Norwest Bank, Corpus Christi and was approved.
The loan funds were used for start-up equipment, inventory, & working capital. Ms. Montgomery is now in business and has experienced only success, thus far.
She is dedicated to her business and enjoys working to provide quality canvas design products to Rockport and the surrounding areas residential, commercial, & industrial community. In addition, she is promoting her products & service to Naval Air Station Ingleside & Corpus Christi. |
