Mr. Domingo Sevilla and his wife Maria started their own business in 1995. Taqueria Garibaldi is a family-owned Mexican food restaurant located on the Corpus Christi's South side. The Sevilla's started their business with personal savings and a Micro-loan from the SBA. Since then, they have experienced only growth and success, and were offered the opportunity to acquire the property at his business location. |
Mr. Sevilla approached the SBDC to request assistance with a business plan and loan proposal. He wanted to purchase the land and building along with a piece of property adjacent to his business. Elizabeth Soliz, assisted him in preparing a business plan and loan proposal for an SBA 504 Loan.
During the application process, changes to the plan required it to be submitted under the SBA 7(a) loan program. Elizabeth assisted with the adjustments for the new application. Laredo National Bank approved the loan under the SBA 7(a) and Mr. Sevilla was able to purchase the property and plan for all the improvements. The loan will provide for plans such as customer parking, drive-thru service, patio dining, interior renovations, and extended business hours.
The Sevilla's ultimate goal is to construct a new restaurant within the next 5 years, and continue dining. Mr. & Mrs. Sevilla have a combined experience of over 20 years in the Mexican restaurant industry. They both commit 100% of their time to the business. They currently have 10 employees and plan to hire 5 or 6 additional employees as they expand their business. Providing a friendly and pleasant dining environment and exceptional service for all customers is the focus for all employees and management.
Taqueria Garibaldi has built a loyal customer base of government employees, businessmen and women and local residents for the past several years. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is well regarded for its tasty and very authentic Mexican cuisine. |
