Quiznos off Nile

William Marin has been a serial entrepreneur from a young age.  He has been working in sales and restaurants since 1986.  In the past, he has owned a total of 14 Subway franchises in Corpus Christi and on the Island of Sint Maarten with as many as six at one time.  He has purchased failing Subway restaurants and turned them into successful operating restaurants which he has then sold at the right time.  He also owns a rental property management company and the Comfort Inn Hotel in Kingsville.  This is a very impressive portfolio for such a young entrepreneur.

William Marin next turned his entrepreneur skills to owning Quiznos Sub restaurants in Corpus Christi.  He purchased his first Quiznos Restaurant in 2007 and then planned to purchase the Quiznos Sub Restaurant at the best location in Corpus Christi at Nile and SPID.  He next contacted Larry Ellis at the Del Mar College SBDC to assist him in securing SBA financing to purchase the Quiznos restaurant.

Larry Ellis assisted Mr. Marin in putting together a detailed SBA loan package that was presented to a bank and was approved for a combination of a SBA loan at American Bank and owner financing to purchase the restaurant.

As the new owner of this Quiznos restaurant, he is taking advantage of the unique freestanding building and its close proximity to businesses, hospitals, and the university.  His new Quiznos restaurant is a very popular lunch choice due to the heavy career, medical, and student populations nearby.  William has outstanding leadership skills that he is applying to this business which is already a top performing franchise in South Texas.  His Quiznos restaurant provides a high end sandwich menu that appeals to his local customers.  The Quiznos restaurant offers a quick service, Italian-style sub sandwich geared to customers who are looking for a quality, healthy alternative to traditional fast food.  He has an upscale dining room which is more comfortable for relaxing dining or business lunches.  His restaurant has a more energized atmosphere than other Quiznos restaurants with a complete customer focus!

William Marin was the Subway Franchisee of the Year in 2000.  He now plans to take his Quiznos restaurant to even higher levels of excellence.  His Comfort Inn Hotel in Kingsville also continues to set new standards for quality accommodations in Kingsville, Texas.  It is great pleasure for the SBDC to work with such a motivated entrepreneur who knows what he wants and will not let anything stand in his way.
