Research Paper Format and Requirements (100 points) 

I.   Structural Requirements

     A. Length:  8-10 pages (Typed)

     B. Format-MLA , Turabian or Other (Consistency is Key)

     C. Title Page Contents (Centered & Spaced)

          1. Identify type of Research in Bold Print (i.e. Research Paper)

          2. Title of Work (Underlined)

          3. Name of the Author (Student's Name)

          4. Course Name & Number

          5. Date Completed

     D. References & Footnotes

          1. Minimum of Four Primary References

          2. Limit of Two Secondary Sources

          3. Employ the Short Footnote Form

     E.  Bibliography

           1. Last Page of Work

           2. Use Proper and Complete Notation

     *Note:  Details concerning references, footnotes, the title page and bibliography will be provided in

                   class.  Please be sure to proofread the work carefully!

II. Topics and Content

     A. Topic Must be Relevant to the Course

     B. Approval by the Instructor is Necessary

          1. Suggestion: Refer to Table of Content for Broad Range of Topics

          2. Consult with Instructor to Determine Specific Topic

     C. Content

   60%-Content (Relevance, Balance, Accuracy, Thoroughness)

   40%-Grammar and Composition (Organization, Grammar, Proofreading)
