Tuesday, September 8. The Supplemental Instruction coordinator for
this course, J.D. Tucker, has set up a schedule for SI sessions this
semester. Attending these sessions will give you a chance to talk
about course material with a veteran of the class, discuss projects,
prepare for tests, improve your study skills, and all-around do better
in the course. I strongly encourage you to participate!
The SI sessions this semester will be held as follows:
 | MW 1-2 p.m. HH Rm. 110 |
 | Th 3-4 p.m. HH Rm. 110 |
You don't need an appointment or reservation --
just show up. If you have any questions about these sessions, or
would like to try to arrange different meeting times, feel free to
contact J.D. at jtucker8@delmar.edu. |

Tuesday, September 1. I've posted the first online discussion
topic on MyDMC. See the
discussion directions
for help finding the Message Boards. |
 | Monday, August 31. Last re-cap of
all of the handouts I've given out so far. You should have the
course syllabus,
the
schedule
of the Library Film Series, the
Online Discussion
Directions, and the Assignment for the Film Review Paper.
If you are missing anything, you can download it here or ask me for a
copy, and please ask me if you have any questions about anything.
The first History-in-Film movie (10-points extra credit) is showing this
Friday at 2 p.m. in Room 530 of the White Library. It's
Black Robe,
about French missionaries working to convert the Huron Indians in Canada
in the 17th century. See the Syllabus for extra-credit directions.
I'll start posting on-line discussion topics sometime this week, but in
the meantime the most important thing for you to do is to get started on
your film review paper.
