Corpus Christi, Latin for the Body of Christ, named after Our Lord Jesus Christ, when the beautiful Bay of Corpus Christi was discovered in 1519 on the Feast of Corpus Christi, by Spanish Explorer Alonso Alvarez de Pineda (The Roman Catholic Explorers had the tradition of naming their discoveries according to the Church's Liturgical Calendar.). A unique city, just like Del Mar College is a unique institution.
