Each test will consist of 50 multiple choice questions worth
two points each.
There are study questions designed to assist the student
with test preparation. A thorough understanding of the study question material
is highly beneficial to doing well on the multiple choice questions.
Questions drawn from text book material are marked in red. Questions marked in blue
refer to the data projects. All other questions refer to material in the notes.
Tests are taken inside the Web-CT environment. Students have four days to take each test. The
tests automatically opened at 12:01 A.M. on the first day and close at 11:55 P.M. on the
forth day. The tests can be taken at any time during the four days. Students
taking tests close to the closing time will find that they cannot complete their test
after closing time.
Tests are timed. Students are allowed 75 minutes to complete
each test. Work beyond the 75 minute time limit is permitted. The student is allowed
to continue, but the score will be reduced by one point per minute past 75 minutes.
If you experience computer and/or server crashes that kick you out of your test for more
than a few minutes the student should e-mail me and explain what happened.
The final will test students knowledge of the basic core concepts.
These concepts appear at the top of the lecture notes. They also appear in
the guidelines for the final found in the syllabus.
The final must be taken at the DMC Testing Center. The
final is password protected. Only the test proctor will have access to the password
The final also consists of fifty questions, has a 75 minute
time limit, and is taken inside the Web-CT environment.
Unlike the four tests, the student is not allowed to use
notes or the text during the final.
There is a comprehensive study guide to assist the student
in preparing for the final.
