Services for Senior Citzens

The Senior Citizens Education Program encourages lifetime learning for older adults. Registration is easy! There are no educational requirements. Formal admission to the college is not required unless seniors want to take courses for college credit. The Senior Education Program provides these options:

  1. Tuition-free auditing for people age 65 and older if space is available Hundreds of classes offered, including academic (except for private lessons), occupational and noncredit courses(except for Computer classes). See the credit and noncredit class schedules for a complete listing of the classes available. Call 698-1298 for the class you want. Participants must pay all classes fees.

  2. Volunteer-taught classes for people age 55 and older Water exercise classes are offered Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Call 698-1298 for more information. All water exercise classes have a waiting list. A nominal lifeguarding fee is charged. Medical permission required. Participants are issued a student I.D. that allows use of the pool during recreational hours. Participants may also use the I.D. to attend campus events.

    The following classes are offered free:
    Computer class schedules vary depending on the availability of volunteer instructors. (Click on each course title to view course descriptions.)Ability to type 20 words per minute required for those interested in Introduction to PC's/Windows. Please call 698-1298 for information. We will call you when classes are available.

  3. Share Your Knowledge

    We are always looking for volunteers, as lead instructors, floor assistants and phone callers , for our computer classes. Please share your computer expertise with others. Free training is provided. Experience not required. Flexible afternoon or Saturday hours, according to your schedule.
