SRGT 1405. INTRODUCTION
TO SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY
Orientation to surgical technology theory, surgical pharmacology and anesthesia, technological sciences, and patient care concepts.
Assessment Levels: R2, E2, M1.
SRGT 1409.
FUNDAMENTALS OF PERIOPERATIVE CONCEPTS AND TECHNIQUES
In-depth coverage of perioperative concepts such as aseptic technique principles and practices, infectious processes,
wound healing, and creation and maintenance of the sterile field. Assessment Levels: R2, E2, M1.
SRGT 1441. SURGICAL PROCEDURES
I
Introduction to surgical pathology and its relationship to surgical procedures. Emphasis on surgical procedures
related to the general, OB/GYN, genitourinary, and orthopedic surgical specialities incorporating instruments,
equipment, and supplies required for safe patient care. Assessment Levels: R3, E3, M1.
SRGT 1442. SURGICAL PROCEDURES
II (CAPSTONE)
Introduction to surgical pathology and its relationship to surgical procedures. Emphasis on surgical procedures
related to the thoracic, peripheral vascular, plastic/reconstructive, EENT, cardiac, and neurological surgical
specialties incorporating instruments, equipment, and supplies required for safe patient care. Assessment Levels: R3,
E3, M1.
SRGT 1460. CLINICAL I
A method of instruction providing detailed education, training and work-based experience and direct
patient/client care, generally at a clinical site. Specific detailed learning objectives are developed
for each course by the faculty. On-site clinical instruction, supervision, evaluation and placement is
the responsibility of the College faculty. Clinical experiences are unpaid external learning
experiences. Course may be repeated if topics and learning outcomes vary. Assessment Levels: R3, E3,
M1.
SRGT 2460. CLINICAL
II
