SCHEDULING OPTIONS
Whether you are working toward a degree, changing careers, enhancing professional skills, or seeking personal enrichment, Del Mar's scheduling options can help you reach your goals. Check out specific classes in the Credit Class Schedule.
Traditional-These are courses that commonly meet morning, afternoon, or evening two or three times a week. Duration of a traditional course is usually 16 weeks.
Rapid Track-Students who can dedicate significant attention to college courses for short, intensive study can complete an entire Del Mar class in just six weeks and earn an Associate in Arts degree in just 12 months through the special Rapid Track program. Call (361) 698-2237.
Clustered and Paired Courses-Students enroll in two or more courses as a group. Instruction in one course reinforces the topics and methods in the other course(s). Call (361) 698-2266.
Off-Campus Classes-Each semester the College offers selected classes at off-campus locations, depending on student demand and availability of facilities and qualified faculty. Call 1-(800) 652-3357 or (361) 215-6952.
Telecourses-Lessons broadcast on local television outlets are combined with on-campus orientation and testing to deliver credit courses you can view at times convenient to you. Call (361) 698-1312.
Videoconferencing Courses-Selected courses are offered using live video links between instructors and students at several locations throughout South Texas simultaneously. Call (361) 698-1312.
Weekend Courses-These classes are offered Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sunday. Call (361) 698-2236
Online Course-Use your home computer to read online "lectures" and course materials, email your instructor, and submit your assignments electronically. You determine when you do your class work by getting online any time of day or night. Some online courses require an on-campus orientation before you get started. (361) 698-1312.
Noncredit Continuing Education Courses-The College also offers hundreds of classes for personal enrichment that do not require formal admission to the College. Check out these opportunities to improve a job skill, learn a computer language, earn continuing education credits, or explore a new hobby. Call (361) 698-1328.
TRANSITIONAL PROGRAMS
Dual Credit and Early Admission Programs-High school juniors and seniors can earn college-level credit before high school graduation through these two specialized programs. Contact your local high school counselor or call the Del Mar College Admissions and Registrar Office at (361) 698-1255.
GED Programs-If you haven't earned your high school diploma, contact the Department of GED Instruction for high school equivalency classes which are designed to help you pass the GED test. After you graduate from the GED Program, a Transitions Liaison will work exclusively with you to help you enroll in college. Call the GED Hotline at (361) 698-1756 for class enrollment information. |
