COMPASS
  • What is the COMPASS?
    The COMPASS (Computer-Adaptive Placement Assessment and Support System) is a computerized assessment/placement exam.
  • Who should take the COMPASS?
    Studentsneeding placement should take the COMPASS. Students who have already taken the COMPASS are still eligible to re-take the COMPASS.
  • When is the COMPASS offered?
    COMPASS is offered by appointment only.
  • What must I bring?
    Students must bring a picture I D in order to test.
  • How long does the COMPASS take?
    The COMPASS essay is 60 minutes. The reading, math, and writing is untimed. However, please approx. 3 hours to complete the test. Students will receive their test results immediately after completing the test. The test scores are good for five years.
  • How much does the COMPASS cost?
    The fee for the COMPASS is $29.00. Fees are not refundable.
  • May I re-take the COMPASS?
    Yes. However, there is a 24 hr. waiting period to re-test.
  • Where is the COMPASS test given?
    The test is given at Del Mar College in Multi-Service Center -Room 108 located at 3013 Ayers St., Corpus Christi, Texas.
