Faculty Grant Proposal
One of Del Mar College's goals and objectives is to create a culture
to support and encourage excellence in teaching through continuous learning.
Del Mar College has allocated thirty-three thousand,
five hundred dollars in
support of faculty grants for the academic year.
The Professional Development and Grants Committee is designated to review
proposals and recommend allocations based on the merits of the proposed
project and available funds. These projects include independent study
or research related to an eligible candidate's instructional area. Funding is not available for international
travel.
ELIGIBILITY
All full-time Del Mar College faculty members, both teaching and
non-teaching, either singly or in groups, are eligible to submit proposals.
These do not include those who are applying for assistance on a graduate
program, receiving additional support from the College or those who
are on leave of absence.
Teaching assistants, lab assistants or fellows, and APT staff who
are applying as a part of a group are also eligible to submit proposals
but must include at least one full-time Del Mar College faculty member
in the group.
Proposals will be considered without regard to the race, age, creed,
national origin, handicap or sex of the applicant(s).
FACULTY GRANT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Completed grant proposals,
including all forms and related documents, must be submitted to the
director of the Teaching and Learning Center by:
November 7, 2008 at 12:00 p.m.
The Professional Development and Grants Committee will review grant
applications before end of the Fall semester. The Vice President
of Instruction will notify successful grant
applicants.
