Master Teacher Award
Del Mar College
awards one faculty member each year as a Master Teacher. Full-time
faculty are nominated for his/her dedication to the teaching
profession and for outstanding academic, scientific and scholarly
achievement. He/she will be entered into a competition in which the
Faculty POD grant committee will select one faculty member to attend
the Teaching Professor Conference May 21-23, 2010 in Cambridge, MA.
The 7th Annual
Teaching Professor Conference is an event that will inform and
inspire college teachers. The event brings teachers together to
learn from each other and exchange teaching innovations and
solutions to teaching problems. The pre-conference programs,
concurrent workshops, and plenary sessions tackle many classroom
challenges.
This letter of
nomination from a College staff member for a Del Mar College faculty
member must be delivered to the Director of the TLC by
Friday, February 26, 2010, 12:00 p.m.
ELIGIBILITY
Full-time Del Mar College teaching faculty members.
SELECTION PROCESS
Once faculty members are notified of
their nominations, the TLC Director will work with the nominees to
supply a nomination packet including:

the original letter of nomination
-
current curriculum vitae
-
narrative explanation of why he/she/you are a great teacher,
what you hope to gain from the conference, and how you will
share this with your colleagues
-
letter of support from a DMC student or colleague
This nomination packet must be
submitted to the Director of the TLC by:
Friday, March 26, 2010, at 12:00 p.m.
The POD Faculty Grant Committee will
review all nomination packets and recommend an awardee to represent
Del Mar College. The Vice President of Instruction will notify the
successful nominee.
The successful nominee will be
required to complete travel forms and make arrangements for travel
to the conference paid in full by the Faculty Grant account.
