Piper Professor Award The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation honors fifteen professors in the state each year for dedication to the teaching profession and for outstanding academic, scientific and scholarly achievement. Honorees will be awarded certificates naming them "Piper Professor", together with a cash honoraria of $5000 each and gold commemorative pins. ELIGIBILITY   Full-time Del Mar College teaching faculty members. SUBMISSION GUIDELINES Letter of nomination from a College staff member for a Del Mar College faculty member must be delivered to the Director of the TLC by Friday, October 26, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. The TLC Director will notify each faculty member of his/her nomination. SELECTION PROCESS Once faculty members are notified of their nominations, the TLC Director and nominating staff member will work with the faculty members to supply a nomination packet including: the original letter of nomination curriculum vitae statement of purpose autobiographical sketch up to five letters of nomination from students, colleagues, former students (optional) This nomination packet must be submitted to the Director of the TLC by: Friday, November 9, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. The POD Faculty Grant Committee will review all nomination packets by mid-November and recommend one nominee to represent Del Mar College. The Vice President of Instruction will notify the successful nominee. The successful nominee will be required to complete the official Piper Professor Award form and mail it to the Piper Foundation by the November 23rd deadline, set by the Piper Foundation. If the Del Mar College nominee is chosen, the Piper Foundation Selection Committee will inform him/her in late Spring. Back
