ADCaP (Adult Degree Completion Program)
When the Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCaP) at the University
of the Incarnate Word was started, we wanted to meet the needs
of adults working full-time and wishing to complete their university
degrees. Weve achieved that goal, but in the process, our
students have achieved much, much more.
With
some university experience, you already know that higher education
is the key to job opportunities and advancement. But did you know
the value of an Incarnate Word education goes much deeper than
that next raise or promotion?
At Incarnate Word, we strive to educate the whole person, and
to share with our students the tools necessary to live happier,
more enriched lives. This has been our Mission since 1881, and
with the ADCaP, were now helping working adults get the
same valuable education in an accelerated and affordable format.
The ADCaP Program is offered at five sites: Alamo Heights
Center, Northwest Center, Northeast Center, and the SAC Dual-
Enrollment Center (all
four centers located in San Antonio, TX) and our program
at Del Mar College Center.

Some frequently asked questions:
1. What is the ADCaP program all about?
Its simple. Courses are offered in 8-week terms. You attend
classes two nights a week and take one or two classes each term,
totaling three or six credit hours. This plan allows you to complete
as many as 36 credit hours in one year.
2. How long will it take to finish?
That depends on two factors: how many semester hours of credit
you have to apply to your degree plan, and how many hours of credit
you take each term and each year. It is possible for a student
to complete a maximum of 36 semester hours in a calendar year.
3. Is it for me?
The Adult Degree Completion Program was designed for working
adults. If you have been out of high school for at least five years, working in a full-time job for at least
three years, and have sixty transferable college credit hours, then this program
is for you.
4. Can I afford it?
Cost of the Adult Degree Completion Program is about two-thirds
of private education tuition. In addition, ADCaP Del Mar classes have an additional scholarship and the cost of books now is covered by the ADCaP program. Most are in electronic format (printing costs not covered). You may be eligible for some forms
of financial aid. Early inquiry is advised.
5. How do I apply?
See the section Transferring Into ADCaP, Del
Mar Center.
