The student life nucleus on the Heritage Campus

The Harvin Student Center will undergo its first major renovation since the late 1990s. The renovation/modernization will include reorganization of departments that will remain in the Harvin Student Center. These departments include:

First floor

  • Student Leadership/Campus Life
  • Campus Dining
  • Viking Food Pantry
  • Journalism/The Foghorn
  • Bookstore
  • Veterans Center
  • Disability Services
  • Student learning and collaboration spaces
  • Student media center

Second floor

  • Center for Mexican American Studies
  • Career Development
  • Financial Aid
  • Student Engagement and Retention
  • Triple SSS Grants
  • TRIO-Educational Opportunity Center
  • Associate Vice President for Student Affairs
  • Counseling Center
  • Multipurpose conference center

Renovation/modernization will include new finishes (walls, floors and ceilings), new heating/ventilation/air conditioning, new plumbing, new plumbing fixtures, new electrical, new lighting and new low voltage data cabling. The existing elevators will be upgraded/modernized to current standards. A new north entry and canopy, a new outdoor plaza, and additional parking are also being planned.
