COVID-19 voluntary vaccination incentive program for students

As part of Del Mar College’s Viking Two-Step campaign, the College is offering a voluntary incentive program for students who provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

Del Mar College will provide students a $200 H-E-B gift card for showing proof of being fully vaccinated. All that’s needed is your vaccination card showing two Pfizer or Moderna vaccinations OR one single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccination. Please note:

  • Students must be fully vaccinated to be eligible. 
  • Students must be enrolled in the Fall 2021 semester – credit or continuing education programs.
  • When providing submission, you will be asked to read and accept the Terms & Conditions to participate in this voluntary COVID-19 vaccination incentive program:

By participating in the Del Mar College COVID-19 Voluntary Vaccination Incentive Program, I acknowledge and agree that my participation is completely voluntary. I understand that I am not required to receive a COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend (or work at) Del Mar College. I also understand and agree that Del Mar College shall not be liable to any Participant in the Incentive Program for any damages, claims, expenses or other costs or fees (including, without limitation, attorney’s fees) that any Participant may incur as a result of their participation in the Incentive Program. I further agree to the terms and conditions of the Incentive Program as outlined in the program information on College website.

  • Del Mar College will maintain the confidentiality of your voluntary participation in this program and maintain confidentiality of your official documentation in accordance with privacy laws.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Who is eligible? All currently enrolled credit and continuing education students who are fully vaccinated.
  • How to provide proof: Proof of vaccination may be submitted through the student portal. If you’re unable to submit electronically, paper forms are available in the Harvin Student Center, Room 204. If you have two vaccination cards showing Pfizer and/or Moderna shots, please submit both cards.
  • Deadline: Student submissions will be accepted through Dec. 10 or until funds are depleted, whichever comes first.
  • How gift cards are issued: After submissions are approved, gift cards can be picked up in person or mailed to the address indicated on the submission. Those who choose to pick up their card will be sent an email to their DMC email address when the card is ready to be picked up. Please allow one week for processing after your submission. Gift cards for $200 will be issued per person.
  • If I’m picking up my gift card, where do I go? Gift cards can be picked up Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Business Office cashier’s window on the second floor of the Harvin Student Center.
  • If you’ve received one shot and are waiting to get the second: Submissions will not be accepted until you are fully vaccinated.
