Culinary Youth Camp

Ninth to Twelfth Grade

The Del Mar College Culinary Youth Camp is a summer enrichment program for students entering into grades 9-12. The camp gives students an introduction to basic cooking techniques such as safety and sanitation, food preparation, measurements and ingredients. Students will have an opportunity to learn and prepare simple recipes in class to take home.

Details

• The camp will be held June 5 - July 14, 2023. Classes are offered as follows:
  Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
• Each class is $75 per student.
• The camp is located at Del Mar College Oso Creek Campus, 7002 Yorktown Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78414, in the Culinary Arts Building.

Any student entering the 9th grade is eligible to participate.

• Knife skills, Sanitation and Safety
• Soup, rice cookery and the breakdown of a chicken
• Fine Dining and Purchasing
• Desserts, Cream Puffs and Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
• Roasting, Pan Frying, Roux (Gravy), Blanching and Aromatics
